Guilty Grizzly Writing Series II
The Guilty Grizzly Writers Series is a quarterly workshop designed for writers of all skill levels. The second workshop features hosts Kevin Miller and Jeff Pew, who will introduce elements of story development, literary techniques, and qualities of effective writing. Participants will have an opportunity to write prose and poetry during this three-hour session, share their work with other participants, and do a Q&A session with Kevin and Jeff. The first session was packed, so register early to ensure a seat!
Jeff Pew’s poetry has appeared on CBC Radio, within the National Poetry Register representing the Kootenay-Columbia, and in buses and skytrains, as part of BC’s Poetry in Transit. He is co-editor of “radiant danse uv being: a poetic portrait of bill bissett” (where he suggested a one-word edit to Margaret Atwood, to which she replied, “Well, duh,” or something like that), and author of “One Foot In”, his first, full-length poetry collection. As well as being a regular contributor to GoKimberley & Kootenay Mountain Culture, Jeff is a high school counsellor and creative writing teacher.
Kevin Miller is an award-winning author, editor, filmmaker, and educator. Over the past twenty-two years, he has applied his craft to a wide range of projects, including feature films, documentaries, novels, non-fiction books, and articles. Kevin's career has taken him all over the planet, leading to all sorts of adventures. He’s snorkeled with sharks in the Galapagos, interviewed war criminals in Sierra Leone, explored the secret underground world beneath Moscow, shaken hands with Chuck Norris, and done chin-ups in Kirk Cameron's bedroom. He has also taught creative writing and screenwriting across Canada and the US as well as in the UK and Australia.
